The Power of Silence
Silence is not the absence of thought. It’s the space where uncomfortable thoughts are allowed to exist without being judged, rushed, or explained away.
Most people don’t fear silence. They fear what shows up in it.
The pause between reactions. The moment before we justify. The breath where the body tells the truth before the mind edits it.
Silence is where regulation happens.Where wisdom gathers.Where the need to perform dissolves.
As I wrote in my memoir:
“What I avoided in silence was never the truth — it was my resistance to feeling it fully.”
Sitting with discomfort without naming it, fixing it, or projecting it outward is a practice. And like all real practices, it strengthens us quietly.
For those who’ve been walking this season with me — thank you.
Lawrence – Reflections of Self, a memoir is now available worldwide. It was written in these same spaces of silence.
Stay with the pause. It’s doing more than you think.
